The very select group of seven (leaders Annes R and G, Vreni, John B, Don B, Maurica and Bert) admired the Animal Quarantine station soon after leaving Abbotsford and read about its history.
We were treated to the sight of a white heron, a godwit and pied oystercatchers.
As we walked along we were regaled with the politics of Concord and Canada Bay Councils since the 1970s by Anne G.
We read about the Canadian exiles of 1840 at Canada Bay and at lunch time Anne G told us more about the history of the area.
We admired the late 19th century Edwardian farm buildings on theDame Edith Walker Estate, some of them rare examples.
We arrived at the Kokoda Café in time to hear Pragati’s birthday speech, before enjoying a well-earned coffee ourselves.
