After a cloudy and gloomy day for the recce, and a washout due to gales, snow and rain on the day of the scheduled walk, the day for this re-scheduled walk was a cracker! There was a cloudless sky, little or no wind, lower Blue Mountains forest/bush in prime condition, and a group of fifteen walkers. We welcomed two for their first walk with us, and another for her first walk as a member. It was great to welcome Vreni, on her first walk since her broken ankle incident.
The walk is a firetrail along a forested ridge crest, with rare glimpses of distant valleys and a lunch spot at “The End of the World” (the name given to the place where the firetrail ends, in the Mountain Lagoon walks booklet). From here we could look out over a magnificent vista of forested green hills, hidden rivers and distant mountains, to refresh our souls before the return walk.
