We arrived by train at Booragul Station on a perfect still autumn morning.

From the bridge you could already see Lake Macquarie shimmering in the sun.
Heading downwards we noticed how beautifully the lake mirrored the trees on the shoreline
Walking the well-maintained paths along the shore, the lake revealed more and more of itself as it widened.

Enjoying a cool breeze during the morning break we continued to walk around the bays.

One beautiful stretch of walking is called Awaba Bay Parkland ( Awaba means “a plain surface” the name for the Lake by local aboriginal people)

At Bolton Point Park we stopped for lunch, then we continued to Toronto where we looked at the historic train station; this line to Fassifern, originally started off as a tram line.

Our walk ended at the beautifully restored pub called Toronto Hotel.
