Eight happy walkers set out from the carpark at Buffalo Creek into the Pittwater Road entrance of the Field of Mars Wildlife Refuge. Our first walk was along the Boardwalk Loop by the creek, we saw an inquisitive lizard peeking up over the track, some chubby birds (someone may know what birds they were) and two beautiful gum trees (we think Blue Gums). We walked back to the Visitors Centre for our morning tea overlooking Buffalo Creek.
Our next walk was along the Kunzea Track, we walked to Cressy Road, then made our way back to the Visitors Centre for our lunch.
After lunch we started along the Warada Track and onto the Strangers Creek section of track, some very pretty parts of this track but also a little challenging climbing over rocks and making our way up towards the Sand Track. We didn’t quite make it that far and decided to return to our cars and make our way to the coffee shop in Boronia Park. We enjoyed some coffee and chat and enjoyed each other’s lovely company before heading home…
