Six walkers set out from our parking spot in Nukara Ave Killcare on a sunny but cool & windy morning on this easy coastal walk.
We soon came to some spectacular views over Tallow Beach on the left & Brisbane Water towards the Rip Bridge on the right.
The descent to Tallow Beach is quite steep but we were rewarded with a pretty & deserted beach for morning tea. Afterwards it was a short steep climb back to the Box Head track which was a little bit hard to negotiate in the strong wind.
MT on Tallow Beach .... view to the sea and view to the land
Afterwards it was a short steep climb back to the Box Head track which was a little bit hard to negotiate in the strong wind but with great
360-degree views of Lion Island, Broken Bay, Barrenjoey Lighthouse, West Head, the Hawkesbury River, Pearl Beach & Umina
& Ocean Beaches at the end.
Tallow Beach from the Boxhead Track Five in the flesh
After retracing our steps back to the start of this track we followed the Flannel Flower track through beautiful bush lined with majestic Angophoras ....
... to a management track behind some houses which led to the Lobster Beach track. We had lunch on this deserted beach which was
sheltered from the wind. Here we were entertained by watching two kite surfers enjoying the wind & waves on Brisbane Water.
After lunch it was a short stroll around the bay to the Killcare Store for our post walk coffee & relaxing chat. Afterwards it was then
only a short walk up the hill back to the cars.
