12 walkers set out to explore the Mt Penang Gardens at Kariong wandering along pathways through quite an unusual botanical garden.
We wandered through individual gardens, each garden having a particular theme including aquatic gardens, a cacti and succulent garden, a more tropical forest area, an area of bottle trees and between the gardens two lakes. Of particular interest were the Wondabyne stone statues moved from Wondabyne and a replica of Wondabyne Station. We had lunch just outside the gardens and returned to the garden's cafe for coffee.
