The last time HVB members walked these tracks was some many years ago, and they were led by Jean and Anne. The weather gods were thankfully in a benevolentmood for the reappearance of this walk on the HVB program. Photographers Sue S and Barbara took full advantage.
(The Webmaster draws no inference as to the age of Jean and Anne and the original HVB walkers on these tracks.)
Mountain ash on the Turners Lookout track, and a reassuring sign, albiet bush spelling:
Inside the Colloseum the pioneers provided a table and chairs from materials at hand, but the natural thing to do was to point upwards.
Out of the Colloseum we retraced our steps, ascending the sandstone steps through the cleft rock
On the track traversing high above the Megalong valley, Rhondda explained that Mark Foy had built the original 'sunbath', fenced it and landscaped the surrounding area. Guests used the facility for health reasons. Sand was brought from Bondi beach. Three pine trees survive what once would have been a circlet. Sue photograped a tree, a cone, bark and leaves and later arborist Bruce suggested the species was Pinus ponderosa

Flowers seen on the Colloseum track: delicate bells of Leuopogon setiger and early flowering Dracophyllum
