2016 10 14 Plus Barb P1232246 025a'The Slacks Stairs.
For many years there was no connection between the Wentworth Falls end of the National and the Wentworth Passes.
Isaac Platt Slack was a resident of Wentworth Falls and Chairman of the Wentworth Falls Group of the Blue Mountains Sights Reserve Trust from 1920 and a Parramatta Real Estate Agent.
He pushed for the addition of this missing link to allow a circuit walk.
After funding finally became available the stairs were constructed around 1932.' From Sue S

Leader Sue S gives a description of this part of the walk: 'From this pool at the base of Wentworth Falls we followed the Wentworth Pass along the top of the slope with almost uninterrupted views of the Jamison Valley to our left and sheer sandstone rock faces on our right.
We eventually reached the Valley of the Waters Creek, or 'The Gorge' as it used to be known, and commenced our ascent.'
