On a sunny day, 21 walkers set off from Jannali Station on the first street walk to their first reserve of the day – the Glen Bushland. Observant readers will notice that the program lists the Burnum Burnum Sanctuary and the Lakewood City as the first two reserves. However, the leaders thought that the walk as set was a little long, and in the event we finished at 2.30, quite ready for coffee.

On the walk as completed, our second visit was the Paruna Reserve for morning tea overlooking the Woronora River.

Next, the Como Public Reserve for conveniences and take-away coffee purchased by two addicts, and where a low leaning gymea lily was a magnet for several photographers, then across the old Como Bridge now serving as a mixed walking/cycing track alongside the replacement railway bridge.

Oatley Point Reserve and meeting up with the Regulars who were enjoying lunch was the next highlight - they had picked a top spot! Some of the combined mob may also have been somewhat envious of a couple of guys peacefully fishing in the lovely peaceful bay, with Como Bridge in the background.

After some peaceful coastal scenery, with varying degrees of urban impact, we came to Oatley Pleasure Grounds and then Moore Reserve for lunch, and an optional circuit of the reserve while our packs were guarded by two volunteers..

Then on to Poulton Park; and to coffee near Penshurst Station.

The leaders would like to thank all the walkers for their cheerfulness and co-operation in what were increasingly warm conditions; and Ros G for shepherding half the contingent to one of two coffee venues, thus allowing swifter service for everyone.

Helen A and Chris B led Kurt, Sue and Michael, Susan C, Celia, Martin, Bert, Wendy P, Wendy C, Deidre, Don Wo, Lyn, Diana L, Lilian, Ros G, John B, Vreni, Sue S and ‘tail-end Charlie’ Don B.

PS. A couple of years ago, a photo was taken of two guys bringing up the rear, although the leading group were nowhere in sight. Because the photo only showed a rear view, they were somewhat incognito, and as it happens a front-on view of the same pair was obtained on this walk. The two are added here, by special request of the author of this report. (Ed.)
