We walked today through Dundas Valley in beautiful sunshine in the great company of 14 amiable walkers. Our walk began from Rydalmere Station through to Crowgey Street Reserve where we joined The Ponds Walk along Subiaco Creek. We stopped for morning tea and then followed The Ponds Creek to Dundas Park where we had our lunch/toilet/coffee/chat. After lunch we made our way through Galarangi Reserve and up the steps to Eric Mobbs Memorial Park, where the walk finished at Carlingford.
In the late 1940s most of the valley was resumed by the Housing Commission for post-war residential settlement which resulted in the creek lines being severely damaged and degraded. The creeks and surrounding bushland are now gradually being restored making it a most enjoyable walk.
