14 walkers set out on the plus walk following the AGM at Bobbin Head. A stiff climb up the Bobbin Head Track was rewarded with a gentle stretch of fire trail to the ranger station at the end of Bobbin Head Road. Morning tea was taken at the entrance to the Sphinx memorial. There followed a 2 kilometer hike along the road to the turn off to the Darri Track at Glengarry Avenue.
The Darri Track took us steeply downhill before steady, and at times steep, climbing back to the ridge above the Cowan Creek. The trail was indistinct at times but no walkers were lost...
We dropped down to Sonja Huddle's seat on the Warrimoo Track where the beautiful view complemented a relaxing lunch. There was then a very steep downhill section dropping us to the creek, which we followed with several side creeks or inlets requiring a bit of scrambling and concentration. After about 5 hours we emerged to a well-earned coffee at the Marina. A testing but very enjoyable day's walking.
