The pre walk introduction started with a big apology given on behalf of one of the leaders. Planter fasciitis is not conducive to walking the 11 km of the regular walk. However a big thank you to Michael who manfully stepped into the breech.
There were 22 starters. It was good to see a number of walkers back from holidays, and also Peter and Cherry back on the track for the first half of the walk; leaving us at the park entrance near the sphinx.
The weather was brilliant for walking although tempered by a cool breeze which brought out a few jumpers at morning tea, held once the steep up hill climb at the start of the Bobbin Head track was completed. A short stop to view the aboriginal carving near the top of the track completed that section before starting the downhill Sphinx track. Considerable work has been done by the NPWS on this track making it an easy walk down to the meeting point with the Warrimoo track where lunch was taken.
The last 4km along Warrimoo completed the round trip
