Twenty two members and two others enjoyed the walk from Teralba to Fassifern via Toronto along the shores of Lake Macquarie. Alighting from the train at Teralba we completed the preliminaries in the park near the station. After successfully crossing busy Five Islands Road, we made our way around the lake to Marmong Point where we had morning tea. The weather was glorious, clear and sunny but not hot. Then we walked through attractive bushland beside the water described as Lake Macquarie State Recreation Area Awaba Bay. After a brief stop at Bolton Point Park it was on to Toronto and lunch on the former railway station (on railway station type seats!!!). After lunch, and coffee for some, it was onward on the rail trail to Fassifern with a diversion along the shores of Fennell Bay on softer grass. A good time was enjoyed by all.
