This is a walk that never disappoints. The variety and quantity of wildflowers soon had walkers forgetting the rigours of the first ascent from Wondabyne Station. It’s not often you can complain about being hit in the face by wildflowers! Special mention goes to the Sydney Rose which put on an outstanding display.
As the misty morning gave way to a warm sunny day, we took in the view over Dangar Island and the Hawkesbury River, the tranquillity of the ephemeral pool, the vastness of Pindar Cave and the cascading waterfall.
A relaxing lunch by the stream at the top of the waterfall preceded a quick retracing of our steps to catch the train. Coffee at Hornsby was enjoyed by most.
The first tick of the season was not enjoyed, but was speedily dispatched.
