Jill and Rhondda met up with Robyn and Rex at Blackheath Station the only EZY walkers to turn up on the day. The gardens were just lovely perfect timing to see the Rhododendrons and Azaleas in bloom. We followed shady bush tracks up and down through Rhododendron and Azalea trees and bushes. All colours red, purple, mauve, yellow and white. As well we saw red waratahs and a white waratah. Among all of this colour we had in the background ferns, gum trees and banksias. Lunch was in the picnic shelter among the flowers.
The leaders had the previous week when they checked the walk arranged with the staff to have afternoon tea in the Rhododendron cafe in the gardens and although just the four of us Rex would not be denied he wanted his scones so we indulged in scones jam and cream before returning to the station where Robyn and Rex left Jill and Rhondda at the station.
