After the AGM, 15 walkers set off on a beautiful, sunny day. Unfortunately, one of our older members had a fall, so a few walkers stayed with him while the remaining
10 walkers continue the walk.
We walked past the children’s playground (under construction) to the mangrove boardwalk beside Cockle Creek. At the end of the boardwalk we climbed the stone
steps on the Gibberagong track to our morning tea spot, which had a lovely view of the creek. We then walked on to view the aboriginal rock carvings, the axe grinding
grooves and the rainforest area along the creek. We returned to the main track and went down to the other arm of the creek to view one of the Gibberagong waterholes.
At low tide a large sandy beach was exposed. It would have been a good place for a swim in summer. We walked farther along the creek for a while before we turned
around and returned to the Bobbin Head Picnic area for lunch. Coffee afterward was at the Bobbin Inn.
