It was a beautiful winter morning & 9 walkers arrived at Cabarita with 7 travelling by ferry from Circular Quay & another 2 by ferry from Meadowbank.

We walked beside the pristine housing developments around the bay to Breakfast Point and through some streets & parks in Mortlake to arrive at the heritage estates of Yaralla & Rivendell. These are now managed by NSW Health but allow walkers access to walk through the bushland alongside the River.

The group then walked along part of the Kododa Memorial trail to have a morning tea stop in the Park before walking through Rhodes to join the foreshore again.

We crossed over to Wentworth Point on the Bennelong Pedestrian Bridge. It was here we had to make a slight detour onto the Louise Savage Walkway before rejoining the Foreshore path again near the Armoury.

We soon arrived at the new Cricketers Pavilion where the group stopped for lunch & some of us were able to enjoy a coffee whilst resting in the sunshine.

After lunch we crossed the Silverwater Bridge to Rydalmere where the walk follows the combined cycle/walkway all the way to the Parramatta Wharf. The wattles in bloom were spectacular on this section of the walk.

We were lucky to arrive just in time to catch the last ferry back to Sydney before low tide caused cancellations of ferries past Rydalmere. Some of our group departed at Meadowbank but the rest of us enjoyed the sunshine & a leisurely cruise back to Circular Quay.
