COWAN CREEK
Nineteen keen walkers met at the start, on a cool, slightly cloudy day. At morning tea, we overlooked Cowan Creek, with Apple Tree Bay in
the distance. The bush was in good condition. In some sections, one side of the track had been burned, we hoped as hazard reduction.
New growth was already appearing. The main wildflower seen was boronia, with signs of further flowering coming. Lunch at the spectacular
Peach Tree Lookout met with general approval, although the wind had come up, as predicted, causing lots of ripples on the creek below.
Return along the Long Track meant we reached the cars before two, followed by coffee at Terrey Hills as usual.
