2018 08 12 LSW Mary IMG 9203With high hopes of a sunny, peaceful lunch spot overlooking the blue waters,
a small group of us left Chatswood by bus bound for Balmoral.
It seemed to be a long journey but there was plenty to look at on the way.

On arrival, the first indication that all was not as imagined was the smell of smoke
and there, opposite on Dobroyd Head, was smoke billowing from back burning.
Council improvement works blocked some of the planned lunchtime seating.
Nevertheless, with fish and chips firmly in hands we found a seat
and, ignoring the wind, did eat our lunch overlooking the blue water.
A short stroll on the promenade was followed
by a search for a coffee shop with spare seating.
Failing to do this we caught the bus back to Chatswood,
having the necessary HVB end-of-walk refreshment there.

A pleasant day!
