Morning tea followed with access to toilets, then we traversed four kilometres into the reserve, an easy walk in pretty bush, passing on the way; baseball fields, bmx track and a local cemetery. This was interesting as it contained grave sites of early settlers in Castle Hill, including many Italian mausoleums; very fine looking!

Back to the cars and on to Heritage Park, Castle Hill, where we enjoyed excellent facilities; bbqs , covered tables etc. This park has historic notes, being one of the sites of the earliest farms in the colony, using convicts for labour and was the basis for the convict uprising of 1804.
Our total of bbq eaters grew with non-walkers to forty three.
Comments were made about how pleasant the day was.
