Twelve walkers gathered at the steps of the Town Hall, where the red carpet had just been laid out for us.

We caught the light rail to Royal Randwick and walked to Centennial Park.

Morning tea was at two picnic tables overlooking Randwick Lake. Alas, the benches and tables had recently been stained with linseed oil and many of us got the oil on our clothes.
Morning tea
After morning tea we walked beside Duck Lake and “One More Shot” Lake (named for a statue of a hunter and his dog). We left the park at the Musgrove Ave. gates and crossed the road to go to Queens Park. We wandered through the park, where many school children were playing sport. At this stage it started to rain lightly.
Duck Lake
After leaving Queens Park there was some street walking to Varna Park, where we had lunch. We were fortunate that the seats and tables were in a shelter shed and so were dry.
Lunch
After lunch we walked down Varna Street to the Wholegreen Bakery and Cafe in Arden Street, when we had coffee. We then caught the bus to Bondi Junction Railway Station.
