It was a very pleasant and picturesque walk despite the rather warm and humid weather and fifteen walkers turned up at Circular Quay for the adventure.

We set out from the Watsons Bay ferry wharf to enjoy the historic and beautifully maintained terrace and timber cottages as well as the waterfront grand mansions and pause briefly at Green Point to learn about the 1942 history of the anti-submarine boom net and the May 1942 Japanese submarine attack in Sydney Harbour.

Camp Cove Beach was at its best on this sunny morning and we found a shady spot there for morning tea.

After passing by Lady Bay Beach with eyes averted!, we enjoyed the views, the lighthouse cottage and Hornby Lighthouse at South Head before returning to Camp Cove and ascending to The Gap.

A further steady ascent took us to the Dunbar Wreck memorial, South Head Signal Station, Macquarie Lighthouse, Christison Park and on to Diamond Bay Reserve where we found a welcome shady spot to enjoy lunch.

Diamond Bay Cliff Walk and Eastern Reserve presented some spectacular views and a pleasant sea breeze which made the whole walk manageable on such a humid day.
We decided to catch a bus at Dover Heights rather than do the hot walk to Bondi and were able to relax at a Bondi Junction café before making our way home.
