10 walkers met at Hornsby station this morning to catch the 7.58 train to Woy Woy.
For once we had more men than ladies (6 to 4). We assembled at Woy Woy Memorial Park for our debriefing by Claude. He let everyone know it is a flat walk
until you reach Blackwall Mountain which is 120 metres to the top.
A fairly easy walk
over 10 kms.

We walked along the foreshore of Brisbane Waters to Lions Park where we had morning tea as this was the last toilet stop along the route.
After morning tea we turned right along Brisbane Waters heading towards Booker Bay.

We turned right before the bay going towards to Blackwell Mountain. The climb up was fairly steep but once at the top the view was beautiful.
From our first lookout
we could see Lion Island and Wagstaff.

Then Karen, who knows the area very well because her Dad used to live nearby, told us of a second lookout where the view wasn’t blocked by trees. Here we overlooked Ettalong and Umina.

We had a group photo here as there was a railing we could all line up against.

Clive decided to do the triangle loop at the top whilst we all took the fire trail down to
the bottom. The fire trail was very easy walking.

At the bottom of the mountain, we all walked back along Brisbane Waters to Lions Park where most of us had lunch. I have included a photo of some of the local ducks (See below. Ed. )

Pelicans are on top of the fish and chip shop. After lunch back to Woy Woy for coffee and cake in one of their many coffee shops.

so everyone was talking. A very pleasant walk with good company and the weather
was ideal a nice breeze on the way, not too hot and only a few mosquitoes at the top
of the mountain. We sprayed ourselves and all was well. So a very enjoyable day
had by all.
