Eight eager walkers arrived at the Central station platform to catch the train to Thirroul. At Thirroul station the weather was partly overcast, with a cool wind blowing from the south.
The group headed off at a brisk pace through a park and streets to the beachside. From there the walkers travelled a route of grass verges, paths and beaches, crossing over occasional creeks on bridges.

The walkers enjoyed morning tea overlooking Bellambi Rock Pool. The clouds had cleared revealing a blue sky. Soon after, the march continued southwards along long stretch of Corrimal Beach.

Upon arriving at Fairy Meadow Beach Reserve, the walkers enjoyed lunch, sheltered from the wind.
Once refreshed, the walkers went along a path through Puckeys Estate Reserve, past Stuart Park to arrive at North Wollongong Beach for an enjoyable coffee and tea.

Wollongong Harbour, and then Crown Street and then the train home
All that remained was to walk past Wollongong Harbour, around Flagstaff Hill (noting that the three 68-pounder Crimean War relics were relocated in 1879 from Sydney to near the lighthouse for defence of a feared Russian attack).
Heading along Crown Street we reached the station for the homeward journey.
