The name of this walk indicates the unusual topography and it is certainly correct. There seems to be a rocky basin which retains sand and water limiting the flow of water to the sea. Our first objective was the Irrawong waterfall busily filling up the basin. Alas, no-one took the opportunity to have a shower. After morning tea there, we retraced our steps and then joined the wooden walkways across the basin from which we had excellent views of the many birds and plants in the area, including an occasional water dragon hiding in the bushes.
