Leader Margaret met the group at Hornsby station memorial park where a bus took us to Hornsby Heights. It was a perfect sunny blue-sky winter’s day & 20 walkers gathered at Rofe Park, Hornsby Heights for a briefing. After Morning Tea at the park (due to no seating available on the Fire trails) leaders Margaret & Claude led the group to the start of the trail.

Everyone appeared surprised to be so quickly away from the traffic and on the trail which was bordered by tall trees from the canyon below and a sense of peace prevailed. The start of the trail was steep but tarred downhill before becoming rubbly and required some slow careful negotiation, however was managed well by all. The trail flattens out & then undulates prior to coming to the steep uphill climb at the end. This was considerably more challenging and some walkers required assistance, although most thought that going uphill was easier than down. In conclusion this walk in future might be best recorded as moderately challenging.

After lunch at Montview Park we made our way to the HB Corner Café on the corner of Galston and Pike Roads, Hornsby Heights.
