“What a great day for a walk!” was the catch cry as we waited at Circular Quay to board our ferry to Cremorne Point Wharf.

We travelled over the sparkling Harbour and arrived at Cremorne in no time.
The 25 of us then started our walk along Cremorne Reserve path admiring the beautiful water views and exquisite federation homes that had been built in the arts and crafts style.

We passed Mosman Bay and had a quick pit stop at Reid Park before stopping for morning tea at Sirius Cove.
An unexpected detour on the trail literally stopped us in our tracks but with some great team work and problem solving we quickly had a new plan and were on our way again.

What we lost in kilometres we made up for in added ascents and descents.
We navigated our way past Taylor’s Bay and on to the beautiful Chowder Bay and Clifton Gardens.
This was our well deserved lunch spot where we had to keep an eye on the cheeky bush turkeys and Kookaburras to ensure that our lunch didn’t become theirs.

From there it was onwards and upwards to Gunner’s barracks and breathtaking views of Middle Head.
We then walked through Georges Heights Oval and on to Rawson Park.

Here we saw the Scotland Australian Cairn and learnt frpm Bert of its history and how it differed from the cairns in Scotland.
The Scottish cairn in Rawson Park (Mosman) was a gift from the people of Scotland to celebrate Australia’s bicentenary 1988. The cairn is made up of 1750 stones with one sent from every parish in Scotland.
Some stones are marked with the name of the town, parish that they came from. One of the stones is from Bert's birhplace.
A short amount of street walking followed which led us to the remains of the original Tram Track to Balmoral.

We walked through the cutaway and viewed a small amount of original track that still remains.
We emerged at Balmoral and high tailed it to the cafe to relax before heading home.
