It was a challenging walk.
Commencing from Seaforth Oval we traversed down the many steps to the beautiful isolated Bantry Bay. At the wharf Claude gave a brief talk on the history of the area in particular pointing out the disused buildings on the opposite side which were originally built to store explosive magazines. After morning tea by the water everyone seemed to enjoy the scrambly upward track from the wharf to the Bluff Lookout at the top.
Most of the group opted to follow Claude on the optional extension to the Natural Bridge, an even more scrambly track, but they all agreed it was well worth it.
One incident towards the top had us bemused – a walker who shall remain nameless, kept feeling her sock thinking she had a leech, only to discover a shoe-horn was still stuck in her boot since the morning’s effort of putting them on!! Ouch!!
After lunch on the rocks at the Bluff we returned to the cars via the Engraving Track which is mostly fire trail and flat bush track. This track borders over 100 Aboriginal carvings, one of Sydney’s biggest engraving sites.
Have just read Wendy C’s Plus Walk description and photos, I think the Regulars can congratulate themselves on also doing a PLUS WALK, and yes we had our own ‘Clive’ – Claude tried out the new flying-fox at the Memorial Park in Karuah Road Turramurra.
Coffee was at the LOCAL’S CORNER café at Seaforth.
And thanks to the walkers who kindly expressed their appreciation for the walk.

From the Bluff, the view of Bantry Bay and beyond. After taking in the view, Robyn M relaxed.
At left, THE shoe horn. Suggestions are invited for a caption, with the idea of posting the photo on the 'About Us' page of the website.
Thirteen of the following fourteen walkers had all their wits about them:
