Nine hardy walkers met at Thornleigh Station and set off in inclement weather. Despite the forecast we experienced only light rain at times. We walked on part of the Great North Walk. Our stop for morning tea was at the Thornleigh Quarry which was used from 1883 for the construction of the main northern railway. A zig zag railway ran from the quarry to the main line near Thornleigh station.

Then we headed along the track to The Jungo at the junction of Berowra and Zig Zag creeks, before retracing our steps back to Thornleigh station. On the way we stopped for lunch at a small embankment on Tillock Street. Coffee was enjoyed at The Monday Morning Café.
