The track continues through bushland along the Lane Cove river. The track follows along the river with sections of timber boardwalk and steps, and rock platforms. The rock overhangs were sculptured by wind and water. The river edge was lined with mangroves.

We enjoyed our lunch perched on a rock platform which Anne R reminded us to be careful of sliding down, before she illustrated her warning by “rolling” her apple out of her bag into the water. The river reflected the sky until a light breeze rippled the surface.
