Twenty enthusiastic walkers set out from Girrakool in beautiful weather.
Fortunately the track had dried out quite a bit since the recce, making the (mainly) downhill track to the swing bridge easier to navigate. Morning tea was along the track. We then followed Piles Creek along to the old Mooney Mooney bridge, enjoying the many old and large trees, the cliffs, and the general green appearance after the recent rains.
Return to the swing bridge meant lunch, some staying on the shady side, while some crossed the bridge to sit in the sun. Then it was uphill, down and up to various creek crossings, till a large sandstone cave provided a diversion. Then on to the final creek crossing, and to Pie in the Sky for a return visit, and another opportunity for some take- home treats.
