Welcome to the Faithful Seven
Seven of us, including a visitor, had faith in the weather as we set off on our walk from Barangaroo to the Botanic Gardens. This was fully justified as there were only a couple of light showers. It is admitted, though, that our raincoats helped keep the wind out.
As most of the attendees had missed our March Barangaroo walk we ascended by lift and walked the long way down to the water before the planned trip around the lower path. We were greatly impressed by the improvement we could see in the vegetation. Rain and cooler weather certainly has helped.
It was then a continuous walk around the harbour foreshores with much to talk about and admire before we again took a lift up to the Botanic Gardens. Luck was with us and we found dry seats in a pagoda for lunch.
We completed out walk by walking down to the water, passing the celebratory plantings for the Gardens 200th Anniversary and around the Opera House before heading up to the coffee shop.
Even on a cloudy day there is beauty to be seen. The dull light seemed to enhance the colours and patterns of the sandstone features in Barangaroo.
Another good walk!
At the start outside the Town Hall: signing on is a serious business.
At Barangaroo, posters show that times have changed in the last 100 years ...
Lunch was taken in a shelter in the Botanical Gardens
For the record: Leaders Lyn and Mary were followed by Kath, Kathy, Ray, a visitor and Norma.
