Following several days of wet weather, eight hardy souls met at the Punt Reserve to undertake the Manly Scenic Walkway (to give it its proper title). In spite of threatening grey skies, we were fortunate to only have a couple of brief periods of drizzle.Anyone who has not done the walk recently will find a lot more developed tracks and steps, plus a couple of detours, to allow further work, and one closed- off footbridge, requiring a further detour. High tides made it necessary to do the higher level tracks at each end of the walk. Morning tea was at Clontarf; one long legged member did the grotto track, while the rest pressed on in case of rain. Lunch was delayed for the same reason, and eventually consumed in a children's playground, with a sun shelter over the top.
Despite the weather, the walk was very enjoyable; the bush looked very fresh and green, and a few early wildflowers were blooming. Coffee was enjoyed at the Manly Wharf Hotel.
