A perfect sunny day for our Manly Dam walk with 21 carefree walkers.
The recent heavy rain made part of the track impassable but the lake had receded just enough for some to sit on our scenic lunch rock beside the lake!
We negotiated some wet & muddy parts & at one stage thought one part of the lake track was underwater but happily some walkers coming from the other direction & assured us that this was only a small section & the track after was fine.
The walk did become quite adventurous when we inadvertently went onto a barely used bush track beside the lake which thankfully emerged at the dam wall!
A friendly cafe in Allambie Rd was able to accommodate us with good coffee & even an extra, free & delicious homestyle biscuit.
A photo from the recee sets the scene
On the day itself, HVB enters the Fashion Stakes. .... and on the right, Tail-end Charlie John G barely manages to keep the leaders in sight
Morning tea in the sunshine - what's not to smile about?
Our visitor, Margaret P, Wendy P, Anne R and Kas take lunch on the lake.
Finally back to the dam, coffee in the offing. More smiles.
Christine M & Elaine E led the band of walkers, John G was Tail-end Charlie & a potential new member was co-opted to drive on his first walk & happily obliged.
