Fifteen members enjoyed this spectacular walk. Catching the train at Turramurra at 6.34 am, three trains later we alighted at Gerringong at 10.01 am!! We headed straight to the coast and from this first headland could see extensive smoke from the fires at Jervis Bay. Turning north, we soon stopped for morning tea overlooking Werri Beach and the various headlands to the north. Then it was along the path behind the beach to the sand spit at Werri Lagoon (no wet feet required today). We moved along the cliff hugging track to Bare Bluff (where we had turned around in heavy rain last time) and on to Loves Bay for lunch. The final section was along the coastal headlands and beaches adjacent to Kiama. At the end walkers took a "short cut" from Surf Beach to the station to catch the 2.55 pm train to Central. Pragati won the prize for determining the significance of the year 1893, and generously shared the chocolate with the group on the train home. All agreed it was a good walk, despite the distance of travel and the early start.
