The recent wet weather still threatened showers but did not deter 11 walkers who set out from Circular Quay and Cremorne.
Ready to go!
We enjoyed the spectacular views of the Harbour through the misty rain at Cremorne Reserve. The walk followed a path around Cremorne Point with exotic gardens lining the harbourside overlooked by Federation Arts and Crafts homes. Along the way Anne R showed paintings of views from the nineteenth century.

The extensive boardwalk then took us to the HMAS Sydney Memorial Mast. We trekked through the bushland around Taylors Bay to lunch at Clifton Gardens. We had encountered many water dragons on the warm day recce walk, but none appeared on the cool and showery day.
Boardwalk through bushland Alternative lunch at Clifton Gardens......the leaders did well to organise this!!
After lunch the path ascended stairs from Chowder Bay wharf, past military buildings and another long stair climb to Georges Heights where a gun emplacement has 180 degree views over the entrance to the harbour.

The last section of bushland track overlooked the entrance until we intersected a long flight of stairs down to Balmoral Beach where we enjoyed coffee.
