This walk used to be a favourite one in Spring because of the abundance of native plants in flower, the glimpses of the Hawkesbury River and a familiar ‘watch your feet’ track, up and down, loose stones and rocks to climb.
Three years ago, a bushfire swept through leaving cinders and black stumps.
However, there has been a good recovery with some native flowers, green bushes and blackened trunks covered with new leaves.
It was a great walk of 19km at a ‘plus pace’. The forecast rain shower only generated a few drops and the sun was out but not burning. Clive’s Signature Special – the ascent to Worsfold Lookout provided a beautiful, 240 degree view over the Hawkesbury and Berowra Creek.
Thanks Clive and Celia for leading the walk and Peter T. for volunteering as tail- end Charlie and first aider. Nick S., Barbara C., Hazel and Nick B. completed the ‘Magnificent Seven’ who sat down for a coffee at ‘Top Cats’.
