The Regular walk along the GNW and Callicoma circuit showcased the pros and cons of our current situation.
There were 30 walkers who assembled at the start of the Great North Walk in Thornleigh. We split into two groups which we called Leisurely (L) and Faster (F). The aims of splitting were to meet the regulations concerning Covid19 whilst enabling the leader of L to keep the Tail End Charlie of F in sight. Thus, the two leaders could still work together, and the two groups could meet up for morning tea and lunch. Unfortunately, both groups immediately lived up to their names and the Tail End Charlie of F disappeared out of sight of the L leader. The two groups never saw each other again during the walk.
However, for the remainder of the walk, the two leaders did keep in contact by phone and then both groups met up successfully for coffee and de-brief at the Monday Morning Cafe Thornleigh
Another interesting aspect was generated because we walked through some built areas. This enabled members to leave the group if they were tired or injured and take public transport.
Overall, it was an enjoyable walk with some beautiful bush and views. The weather was fine, the sky was blue, and the natives were in flower.
