What a beautiful day for a walk around Middle Harbour! 16 walkers turned up - including 2 visitors, Margaret and Howard.
We set off walking along the foreshore of Clontarf, through the bush, up to the Spit Bridge, crossing the bridge, then across the road to the other side.
The walk continued around the foreshore until the climb up to Bay Street, Beauty Point.
Morning tea was at Quakers Hat Park. We picked up some free, very juicy mandarins on the side of the road along the way.
After morning tea, we climbed the hill to Spit Road where we crossed over; continuing onto Cyprian Street to go down to our lunch spot at Chinaman’s Beach.
Whilst eating our lunch, a black Labrador pinched a roll out of Theresa’s bag and ate it - gladwrap and all. Caused a bit of a stir. Christine passed around her famous black jellybeans after lunch. Thank you Christine!
After a toilet stop, we climbed Cyprian Street and then turned right - heading back to the Spit Bridge. Walked through the beautiful bush at Clontarf for our afternoon tea -a coffee shop on a pontoon over the water. What a view! We had two long tables with everyone chatting and enjoying the rest of the day. A good day was had by all.
Thanks to everyone – and to our tail-ender, Michael and first aider, Lindy.
