Twenty five walkers gathered st Shelly Beach Surf Club on a beautiful clear sunny day. The beach and the ocean looked their best.
The Briefing ... ... the response
We followed the mainly bush track, overlooking Bateau Bay beach, and with further glimpses of the ocean, up to Crackneck Point.
Time for a chat .... ... whilst Phyllis waits and the view to Bateau Beach
We discovered that the lookout area had been ‘improved’, with good seating but little shade. However, it provided a good morning tea spot, with views to the north to The Entrance and beyond.

Then the track to Wyrrabalong Trig became narrower, with quite a few steps, up and down.
Along the way, the flannel flowers were spectacular, in size, quality and quantity.
Flannel Flower Actinotus helianthi and Tea Tree Leptospermum laevigatum
From the Trig, more stunning views , this time facing south, to Forresters, Terrigal and further.

There was a welcome cool breeze, but we left it to return to Crackneck for lunch.
Then downhill almost all the way, back to Shelly Beach and welcome coffee, cool drinks etc.
