Twenty two members undertook this scenic walk along the Illawarra coastline. Alighting the train at Wombarra, it was a steep pathway down to Scarborough Beach. Difficulty was experienced in passing a rock outcrop on the beach with waves lapping up as the tide rose-some wet feet. Then up through the cemetery and along the footpath beside Lawrence Hargrave Drive to Coledale Beach for morning tea. Given the tide and sea conditions we continued along the footpath to Brickyard Point where we rejoined the intended route. We passed behind Sharkies Beach and Austinmeer Beach to Thirroul Beach for lunch. It was decided not to proceed to Sandon Point but to head to Thirroul Station for coffee and the train home. A big thank you to our first aid officers Lyndy and Elizabeth who professionally handled two unfortunate incidents along the track. Thanks also to Tail End Charlie-Michael.
